4 Reasons You Might Want Wedding Cupcakes Instead of a Single Cake

More and more people are deciding to use cupcakes for their wedding instead of one large cake, and that should come as no surprise. It might seem like just a novel idea at first, but opting for cupcakes actually brings a number of advantages.

1. You're Able to Cater to Different People

One of the best things about going for cupcakes instead of sticking with tradition is that you'll be able to charm the taste-buds of pretty much every single guest.

Even the most widely-loved of ingredients might not be palatable to some of your guests, particularly children, and allergies to common items such as nuts need to be taken into account. With cupcakes, you can choose different recipes in order to minimise this problem.

2. You Don't Need to Worry About Transportation

People don't often think about how hard it is to move a traditional wedding cake until they have to do it themselves. Some cake makers will bring it to the venue for you, but not always, and accidents can still happen when bringing in the large, multi-tiered cakes that tradition demands.

Cupcakes, on the other hand, are incredibly easy to move. You can even drop a couple, and it won't be of any real cause for concern.

3. They Are More Cost Effective

Plenty of time, effort, and skill is needed to craft a traditional wedding cake – this is why they often cost so much more money than the ingredients alone would suggest. Cupcakes are much easier and faster to make, which is why some people choose to make them by themselves.

Additionally, going with cupcakes allows for a degree of flexibility. If you find out that more people than you expected are going to be attending, you can always just have a few more whipped up.

4. You Can Do Something Different

Some people will be put off using cupcakes simply because they are not traditional; others will be encouraged by that fact. After all, it's nice to be able to put your own spin on your own special day, and cupcakes can be used creatively in order to do so.

For a start, they're simply a little more fun and casual than an individual cake, but their benefits go beyond that. You could form a cake mosaic by using different icing colours, or even write the name of each guest on their own cupcake – with a few blank ones left over for seconds, of course.

Cupcakes provide a sense of creative versatility and flavouring flexibility that just can't be achieved with one large cake, even if the latter is the traditional wedding option. If you hadn't thought about making the switch for your big day, it might be time to do so. For more information, contact a cake shop in your area.
